The community dialogue phase consist of integration into the Michigan Roundtable’s First Friday Forums: Community Conversations on Race in Metro Detroit. These are monthly conversations that Michigan Roundtable has engaged a broad community of Detroiters and Metro Detroiters in dialogue at the community level on race and structural racism.
Over the past 4 years they have engaged with over 4,000 community members to begin transformative conversations. These monthly dialogue sessions for the Summer ’67 Project will form the base of primed engagement to the week of dialogues at the end of July 2017. In addition these conversations will provide the basis for the development of the school curriculum.
